Today I went to the grocery store and didn't want to get a bag because I don't like being wasteful and I had a backpack, but I got some tomatoes and realized too late that they'd get squished in my backpack, so I went to the library and walked home with a tomato in each hand.
I felt something in my shoe this morning, so I took it off and dumped it out, and it was a huge, dead, mangled spider!!!!!! Yukyukyukyukyuk yuk YUK yuk yuk.
I went to a potlach at Emo's last night, and then she and her boyfriend and his friend and I went to a bar--my first time at a bar in the U.S. I got two drinks I didn't like, and discovered that gin tastes like pine trees. I dislike conifers.
Oh gosh, Aimee made me a poppyseed cake on Monday for my birthday, and I guess she didn't like it or something because I wound up dispatching the whole thing. So much for cutting back on food I don't need!
In ochem lab, my lab partner and I asked a question about 5 minutes before the end of class. The teacher, perceiving we understood nothing, proceeded to give us a 25 minute baby step-by-baby step lecture (which, I'll admit, greatly helped); unfortunately, by the time he finished, it was too late to go to jujitsu. My lab partner Melissa proposed I accompany her to swing dance, which turned out to be pretty fun but I cannot convey how much I sucked. In the future I think I'll stick with jujitsu.
Aimee dragged me to Lover's Package yesterday so she could get a hot nurse halloween costume. (Apparently they card you there?) Anyway, this one worker kept hovering around us asking if we needed help. Finally, when she told us in exasperation, "You're in the plus size section," we realized why she was loitering.
Damn it, I got like 5 leg cramps today during jujitsu and had to stop--they hurt!
I spent the weekend in North Carolina with my boyfriend--oh yeah I also turned 21 woohoo. A good time was had by all in NC (although I only got to be there 2 days). We went to lunch at this restaurant where everyone threw their discarded peanut shells on the ground, which was disgusting.
On the way home last night, I had a layover in Los Vegas--they have slot machines
in the airport...I arrived at Sea/Tac at 2:30, hit the road at 3, got back to Bellingham around 4:30, and finally went to bed at 5 before getting up at 8.
I am screwed for my chem test on Tuesday, I think: we had a lab that was supposed to be pretty easy from the first lab class--my lab partner Melissa and I spent an hour and a half on it then, an hour and a half on it in
this week's lab, met for an hour and a half this morning at 8 am to work on it more (note to self: molecular models make no sense in the morning), and still aren't done! We're meeting again tomorrow, probably for another hour and a half, and hopefully will finish it this time.
I forgot to post that I finished posting my Montana pictures!

I went and had my wheels rotated and aligned today, which they told me would take about an hour and a half. I heard them telling other people they were running way behind, so I waited until 2 1/2 hours had passed to go ask about my car (plus, I was enjoying watching next generation reruns). "Oh, that's been done a while," the woman at the counter said. "No one announced it?"
I failed at making bar cookies on Friday. First, I didn't have any vanilla, so I went to the store especially to get vanilla, but accidentally got almond extract, which was nestled in the middle of the vanilla. I hate almond extract--it reminds me of maraschino cherries. I exchanged the almond extract for vanilla, and made my batter/dough (I had to make a double batch because I only have a large baking sheet). I put it to bake for half an hour, but after forty minutes they were still kind of raw and I had to leave to go to my friend's surprise birthday/pajama party. So I turned off the oven and left the cookies in there--by the time I got home they were rock hard. I lose.
