Aimee and I have been Queens of teh Free and Cheap Stuff for our apartment--we scored a free sofa, another cheap one, a cheap vacuum, a free tv (although we don't have cable so nothing comes in), and a free broom.
None of my posters are particularly interesting to me anymore so I haven't hung any up yet, and my room looks rather dull.
I went for 2 bike rides this week! Me, who hates bikes! I went an hour each day, and the second day went more than a mile further. I've signed up for jujitsu again--the guy we got the cheap sofa from turned out to be the jujitsu teacher and he recognized me, and told me I had to.
Aimee and I scored a free sofa from off the side of the road! The hippie dude who left it there came out to offer us a free tv too.
I posted some of my pictures!

I'm heading back to WA tomorrow, so it seems I'd better catch up and post some photos already! Here's a few from the past couple weeks.

Cat#2 attacked the Super Giant burrito in Davis.

This Sunday my family and I went to the "How Berkeley can you be?!" festival to check out the art cars.

This car was called the "Colt Mobile".

We decided this was one of the coolest ones - and it took the least time to build, of all the times we heard: only 18 months!
Robin's friend Fred's car died in the city last night, so the whole family piled into the car and headed in to rescue him and Daniel. They had the car at a gas station but couldn't leave it there, so we pushed it around the corner (this is in the city, so there were scary drivers all around) and into a spot. I was running as hard as I could, pushing, but still we weren't moving very fast. Then we went out for pizza-yum! We also tried to bowl, then to play pool, but were shut out of both.
I spent the weekend until Tuesday in Davis hanging out with Brian. Good times, particularly watching a 5' tall girl downing a "super giant" burrito (the size of two normal burritos/your arm) in 22 minutes, the same length of time it took me to eat a normal size burrito. Also, on the drive up, I saw a sedge of 30 or so herons (go collective nouns! [think pride of lions, gaggle of geese])! I was excited.
So I was trying to post Montana pictures then I got all inspired and decided I needed to overhaul my website first, so in the meantime enjoy a few photos from the road trip itself:

I swear they tore up every single road in Montana just for me.

Dinosaur model and ice cream--what could be better?! (<--I used an interrobang!)

Well how-de-do I am home from Montana (actually I finished my trip August 18th but didn't return to CA until the 23rd). Montana was fun and backpacking intensive--28 days of backpacking, split into three trips. The other two weeks of time we camped.
I got my photos back but, due to some affectation on my part, I got them done at an expensive photo store where I couldn't afford to have them put on CD (yes, I took FILM!!!) and I am lazy so I haven't yet scanned them. Maybe that should be tomorrow's project.
When I finished my Montana field course, I drove up to Glacier National Park and camped by myself for several days, then drove back to Bellingham, where, through mostly but not entirely my own fault, I wound up camping again for two days since I couldn't get ahold of anyone to let me sleep on their bed and there was a miscommunication about when I could pick up the keys to my apartment. Finally I got everything moved in, and I got to hang out with some people, so it was all good.
