My field methods class today was 5 1/2 hours long, and we got out an hour and a half early.

To wrap up the class and make sure our compass skills were good enough, our teacher split us into groups of three, gave us all compasses and these fun gadgets that tell you exactly how far you are from any given thing plus a list of coordinates and distances. My group got the course called "Cross Country," which we didn't notice until later. So we went orienteering for an hour and a half, which involved running up and over Sehome Hill, but since our course didn't really follow the trail, we had to brushcrash the whole way. What's that multiplication factor, Dad? At last, when we were about halfway done and about to climb back over Sehome Hill, our path crossed the road just at the moment a classmate was walking down it, so he told us where to go. My god, am I tired.

I had my first class of the quarter today, and started off on an awesome note when the room I thought the class was in was still dark and empty five minutes before it was supposed to start, and only one other guy was there with me waiting. So we walked down the three flights of stairs (which seem longer than usual since they twist around 4 times between each level) to ground level, walked over to Huxley and walked up the four flights of stairs to the Huxley office to inquire. They knew nothing about a room change, so a random professor who overheard our plight offered to call someone who would know. She then spent five minutes on the phone ascertaining that yes, we were idiots, and the class really was in that room. So we walked down the four flights of stairs, up the three flights of stairs, and found the class full and ourselves five minutes late. C'est la vie.

I've done a whole lot of nothing since I've been home, also I went to Davis, to the city twice, made 2 mixes, worked at the library (a whole 2 hours) and gone geocaching. Oh, and I've copied 6 gigs of tunes from the parents' computer to mine. Rock on!

Tonight there was some definate kaeldra action--ping pong extravagannnnnnnnnza, nerf gun battle, bouncy-ball fun, and dark chocolate chocolate chip ice cream.

When I walk home from school, I play a game to keep myself entertained--namely, I exhale every time I step on a crack, and can only breathe in when I step in the middle of a square of concrete. Anyhow, today I got in a walking groove and I thought I was going to suffocate myself because I kept stepping on cracks! Ok, I'm weird.

I tried cooking pasta sauce from scratch and it came out...interesting. Next time I'll stick to a recipe.

Dark Side of the Moon came out today in 1973--seems like a good enough reason to listen to it.

I took a study break yesterday to walk down to Fairhaven with Aimee, where we got gelato, wandered around town, ate some pizza, and watched a man playing his accordian for a baby sitting in his accordian case. It was very cute.

FUCK.

The paper I have been SLAVING over for the past week and a half is already 2500 words over the limit, and I haven't written an introduction yet. My paper is TWENTY-EIGHT pages long! That means I've done soooo much more work than I needed to, and I could have spent that time studying for other classes!!! Insta-stress!!! Well, what's done is done, and I can't exactly bail out of it now and devote my time to other stuff, since it's due Friday.

I have gone through approximately 250 post-its in the past week, taking notes on the evolution/intelligent design debate, federal funding for faith-based organizations, and the state of secularism in America today.

Bryan, who was with me in New Zelaand, got back into Bellingham and came to hang out today!

OMG, I practiced today! It's been a while.

And I haven't forgotten that I promised a site revamp. It's in the works!
