Christmas is always hectic but we fortunately managed to avoid a week of hectic by going to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. We saw a lot of ruins (I'll post pictures later), ate tons of huevos, wore lots of sunscreen, drove in a dinky little car, and hung out on sandy beaches, waking up in the wee small hours of the morning (unintentionally) several times so we walked on the beach beneath the sunrise over the Caribbean.
It's off to the Yucatan peninsula!
I watched Sleepy Hollow tonight AND last night--woo hoo.
Wow, did anyone else ever notice that Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is horrible and can't rhyme worth a damn? I hate things that make you pronounce again 'uhgayn'...
Brian and I got doughnuts and brought them to Robin during the break between her finals, though I failed to bring her her bag, but it didn't matter because a) mom brought it and b) it didn't have the stuff she needed anyway.
Then there ws othterf stugfff.
Well, going on standby sucked because my flight from Bellingham to Seattle was delayed, making me miss my connecting flight by less than five minutes, and then the next plane was delayed several hours, so I didn't get home until the time I would have if I had taken my original flight, except withthe added bonus of spending all day in an airport.
Brian came down and we stopped by Andy's to hang out for a while. Basically, though, all I've done is sleep and lounge around--just what I should be doing, right?!
OK, I'm going for it, gonna do standby--either I'll be at the Bellingham airport for 5 hours, or I'll be home 4 hours earlier than anticipated.
I missed one day of biology this quarter, and, of course, Murphy's Law, there was a 12 point question about cnidarians (aka jellyfish and sea anemones). Alas, what can you do? But now I've done almost all the chemistry I ever need to do, yay!
Megan's gone so I'm all alone. Thankfully she cleaned up her stuff before she left so I'm not tripping over stuff all the time.
Two of Megan's light bulbs blew out in October, and no one's done anything about it, but I got 2 new lightbulbs today and now our room is oh so bright!
the exculpatory: sleep well and sweet dreams when applicable
Yesterday, I went for a waterfront meander with Coty, which didn't get very far since the tide was high. Then we explored the beach, and while walking on some flat but slippery sandstone, I slipped and scraped my knuckles.
Last night, I watched Spiderman 2 and studied chem, tried to go to bed early, but couldn't sleep, so I got up at 2:30 to kill time until I was tired.
Let's see, today was:
9.5 hours of LOTR
2 hours lazing about and editing my essay
45 min eating
30 min reading the paper
and 15 min puzzling over what song was stuck in my head
I woke up and turned my alarm off at 8, but didn't get out of bed so I fell back asleep. Then I woke up at 9:05 for my 9 lab exam, made it there by 9:10, and the TA sympathized with me and told me I could take the test at 10. Phew, close call.
There is currently a chili fiasco--chili spilled in the recycling bin, wehre it shouldn't have been in the first place, but both Megan and I refuse to clean the recycling bin because I know it wasn't my or my friends' chili, and she says it wasn't her or her friends' chili.
The RA had christmas card-making materials in the lounge, so I started to make a card but it turned into "Parade of the Nautili". You can just picture that yourself.
Yay finally done with the stupid news analysis...now all I need to do is print it, which is an ordeal in itself because I have to email it somewhere and then go to the computer lab and all that fun stuff. Maybe it's time to go get myself that black ink cartridge. Well, I should edit my essay, but whatevaaaa...
hermione MALFOY: only with latin could you logically misinterpret "manage your spirit" as "with the king of pride"
