For a little fun, I took Ghost Post and auto-summarized it to 10 percent in Word. I took the summary and summarized it, then summarized that, and got:

Damon eyed her.
Damon shrugged slightly. “Likewise, call me Damon,” Damon offered. “Certainly,” replied Damon. Damon laughed. Damon smiled. Damon read it. Damon asked Logan.
Damon nodded. Damon nodded.
Damon!” “Oh, Damon! “Who?” cried Damon. “Who?” cried Damon. Damon pleaded. Damon, thank you.” Damon!”
Damon!” called Celeste. Damon!” Goodbye, Damon. Damon slumped. Damon Myanne.”

Hehehehe.
Actually, I just got back from doing stuff, so this is not the product of a mind that's been isolated from human interaction for the day...

Wow, been working on this biology lab waaaaay too long.

Guess what my roommate's talked me into being for Halloween--Britney Spears in that "I'm not that innocent" or whatever video. I shouldn't take costume advice from a girl who's wearing a corset and feather boa for a costume.

Today I skipped polisci because it was too sunny and gorgeous not to do something outside. Instead, I went for a walk at Lake Padden, about 15 minutes away driving. It turned from a walk into more of a "let's test out mah new tripod." I glanced at my watch when I was halfway across the lake from my car, and lo! it was nearly time to go to biology! I tracy-walked back to the car and made it just in time for class.

In my lame-o writing center class yesterday, I actually got to do useful things because we were practicing revision techniques, so I busted out Ghost Post (well not literally--I don't even have the whole thing printed out) and worked on it. Plus the techniques we tried, though not particularly helpful, were at least fun--in one we drew our essay/story--I used a lot of crayon...

I'm going to give myself a mini heart attack if I don't stop reading the voter part of the paper. I mailed my ballot, there's nothing more I can do. If Bush wins, I want to make shirts that say, "Don't blame me, I voted Kerry." Or maybe just, "Don't blame me--I voted." Heh, like that's happening.

Speaking of mini heart attacks, I scared myself awake this morning thinking that I had overslept my alarm and missed chemistry lab, which would make me fail the class. Thankfully, it was actually five minutes before my alarm was supposed to go off.

Well, either it was the bio or the boredom, but I successfully tied and untied all the furniture in my room with new knots I learned tonight from off the internet.

It's pouring, it's dark, it's cold, and I've been working on my biology essay for 2 hours yet have produced only 2 pages double-spaced--sounds like it's time for dinner.

I had an uneventful 19th birthday today. Maybe that's because no one up here knew it was my birthday. Well, Megan made me a card. I scored free lemon bars today (unrelated to it being my birthday).

Tonight I went to capture the flag, dragging a girl from my hall who is now totally gung ho about it. Had a good time, wound up playing defense more than I intended (I went back to relieve someone but no one came back for me), hung out yakking afterwards in the rain. When I got back, I figured I'd finish up my bio lab work and head to bed. Unfortunately, in a last minute perusal of what I had to do (after I answered the questions I thought I needed to) I discovered I DID THE TOTALLY WRONG THING so I had to start over. Damn, it's taken me 45 minutes too.

I decided I have three walking speeds:
1) The Amble. Used for walking with 95 % of all other people, up stairs, or in clogs or high heeled shoes.
2) The Tracy Walk. My regular speed.
and 3) The I'm-Walking-So-Fast-It-Hurts-My-Bones. Just what it sounds like. For when I am late and care that I am.

Last night I spent hours looking at Washington measures and initiatives so I can be an informed voter but then when I went to bed I kept thinking about politics so I couldn't sleep.

Yay the chem teacher did a curve!

hermione MALFOY: OMG
Becotopia: to become brown and natural
hermione MALFOY: OH MY GOD

Tonight I went to a Jason Webley concert. I had a hooting good time. He plays accordion and guitar, and he played a cover of Bruce's "I'm on Fire" on accordion. Other things included dancing like fools, tickling people, spinning around in circles (I hooked my leg on someone's bag and fell down), and reading a Rootabega story (except I think he made it up.) Much merriment.

Then I ran into my friend Kara (whose name I didn't know until last week though I had econ with her all last quarter), and we went and visited her roommate from last year and then Cody.

I slept in until 1:30 today and then ran errands leisurely. The phone kept ringing, but I couldn't find it half asleep because it was in Megan's underwear drawer.

Tonight I went to see "The Forgotten." I was not expecting an alien movie.

"If I have a choice, I prefer not to live the rest of my life with the difference between a good day and bad day being whether Homeland Security tells me it is "code red" or "code orange" outside.
. . .

I want a president who can one day restore Sept. 11th to its rightful place on the calendar: as the day after Sept. 10th and before Sept. 12th. I do not want it to become a day that defines us. Because ultimately Sept. 11th is about them - the bad guys - not about us. We're about the Fourth of July."

This morning, my chem teacher gave us a brief shpeel about our test on Friday, then set us free after about 30 minutes. This morning was a Brigadoon morning--complety foggy, hazy, almost, but the sun broke through in bold beams where it could. Everything was dewy, so I spotted more spider webs (I saw one this afternoon that proved successful because the spider had just caught a ladybug), and took photos of dew on autumn leaves and scruffy dandelions.

Before my bio test, I had an hour to kill, so I went for a run. I think I'm already feeling it. Bad sign.

This weekend, I was busy. Lots of stuff, lots of new friends, too tired to type it all. Yesterday I tagged along with a random group of people going on a treasure hunt across the school at 9:00 at night. Today was more busy. Class, study, work, study, practice...anyway Monday's are wretched. During dinner there was a fire so I couldn't eat for half an hour and then some bastard stole my tray of food. Maybe it was an honest mistake. But, I mean, how desperate are you, that you take someone else's tray? Work sucked too.

My atheist pin got water in it! The rain began last night and has been falling ceaselessly all day. I got soaked walking between classes. Raindrops land on my glasses and then I can't see anything. My rain parka is drying in the corner. I have succumbed to fall.

This morning at Bio Lab we further studied the effect of substrate steepness on moss growth--not exactly thrilling. We waded through thick, wet undergrowth to reach fallen logs. Did I mention it rained?

Went to CTF last night, enjoyed myself. Afterwards I hung out with some of them for about 20 minutes, befriended a new guy who was there and hung out with him for another half an hour, then got the greencoats to take me home, which took waaay longer than it would have if I had just walked.

I just went to see "Napoleon Dynamite" with the girl in the room next to me. We left about 15 minutes before the movie, but we couldn't for the life of us find it even though I had drawn a map of where it was. Finally she called her brother to tell us where it was, and we drove past it another time after that. Obviously their signage needs improvement since we drove past it 5 or 6 times. We bought our tickets twenty minutes after the movie started, if that's any indication of how hard it was to find. They took pity on us and only made us buy one ticket combined. I proved that I have no math skills to the girl I went with.

Fire drill! Fire drill? I thought I graduated from those along with high school.

Oh no! The person who I sit next to in Bio, who I thought was somewhat intelligent, is a Bush supporter!

I finished The Count of Monte Cristo! It was riveting, excellent, add descriptions here... Apparently my 600 page edition was abridged--but maybe it would be worth it to read the unabridged version?

Wow, when I was walking home from class this morning, I noticed that all the spiderwebs all over campus were covered with dew, making them completely visible. For someone who hates spiders, I sure do like spiderwebs. (Except when they're on me.)

Today I rearranged my room.

Tonight I went to play Laser Tag with people in Fairhaven, which was an adventure because there were no signs on the road directing us there, so we drove around in circles for a long time and so did the other car of people. I came in 6th point-wise out of 8 people; my accuracy was only about 7 percent. Still, it was fun.

In other news, Uber Man came to Bellingham and I missed him!

Wow, I just slept for 14 hours. I went to bed at 9:30, then woke up at 4:30. I did not approve; thankfully, I managed to get back to sleep.

Yesterday I had biology lab. We wandered around on Sehome Hill looking for mosses and lichens. There were crazy fluorescent orange mushrooms, oranger than orange peels or pumpkin rinds, as orange as road work cones, mixed in with the undergrowth. I correctly identified several types of ferns, much to the amazement of my lab teacher.

Damn it, this sucks. I have a cold. I was sneeeeeeeeeeeeezing all day long. I felt yucky so I didn't go to ctf. Going to see the presidential debate, I missed dinner, so I got chinese food at Haggen's. It was OK until the last few bites. Of course, through the debate, I kept sneezing and wheezing (very unpleasing) and everyone glared. Unfortunately, the people putting on the showing wouldn't let us mock either of them. But Kerry did hold his own quite well, I thought.

Favorite lines of the evening:
Mr. Lehrer: Colossal misjudgments, what colossal misjudgments, in your opinion, has President Bush made in these areas?
Kerry: Well, where do you want me to begin?
