Saw Fahrenheit 9/11 yesterday so now I hate Bush even more. Didn't know I could.
For my art class I have to do 50 contour drawings complete with shadow contours, and I'm 70% done and sick of contours and Robin's 15% done and sick of contours. We'll have to draw other stuff to make up for the boring annoying contourness. Haha, we still aren't officially registered for the class.
Yesterday I went on a
tour of the south end of the ggnra with my co-workers and other interns in the park. I forgot to wear sunscreen and am paying the price. We went places I had never seen before (or at least don't recollect seeing)--Land's End/Sutro Baths, Fort Funston, and Mori Point.
Brian and I drove over to Berkeley and said hi to Steve O'Mara, watched some movie with the Wayans brothers in it, got lost in Berkeley, got some cookies, and found our way home. Then yesterday Danielle came over and we watched Return of the King and avoided watching QAF thankfully, then Katie Lovett came over and there was more yakking and finally everyone went home and I got to draw.
Hmmm, apparently I have a book overdue at the school library but I know I turned it in. I mean, a) I remember turning it in and b) I moved out of my room--how could I have missed it?
I managed to turn on the emergency beacon on my radio thinking it was the power switch. Damn. Oh well, the police man was nice.
Wow so I haven't been on a computer in a while apparently...
But anywho, we went camping at China Camp. Rode our bikes a bit, roasted s'mores, discussed mothra-esque monsters, etc. Had cheesecake at Brian's for his birthday. (Happy birthday ;D) I started working at Muir Woods on Tuesday, mostly I've been hiking and reading about redwood stuff. Today I found a book about banana slugs which served as some entertainment. I like the drive
to work, but I disapprove of rush hour traffic. Yesterday I went for a six mile hike and then did cardio kickboxing for an hour; today I took a three mile hike in 45 minutes when it was supposed to take 2 hours (it has a mile of elevation change)--apparently I walk fast. My uniform is, as predicted, ugly as all get out.
Home again! Wednesday was very stressful: I woke up at 7 after four and a half hours of sleep, repacked my bags, went and took a chemistry final, finished and turned in a paper, mailed a package, cleaned my room (taking out the recycling bin probably 5 times) and took the taxi to the airport. There, they spent half an hour rooting through every nook and cranny of my checked bags, including inside my saxophone, every orifice of my clarinet, and boots, and they had a hard time repacking. Flew home, got picked up by mi familia and Brian, drove to the city, ran up a zillion stairs to Coit tower and got dinner. Took a short tour of KGO then came home, looked at photos while Robin and Brian studied math, and drove around till the wee small hours of the morning.
Yesterday I slept in until 12:30, then went and got chinese chicken salad at Comforts yum. We headed to the beach, where we were mean and kept the poor dog tied up, and avoided the bright blue jellyfish littering the beach to "plant" seaweed/kelp stuff in the sand. Saw Mallrats.
Today I finally saw Harry Potter. Feeling too lazy to do anything but lounge.
Goodbye beloved computer!
Cody and I just went and blew 20 bucks at the student store, so now I'm eating ice cream. Yum. Until it melts.
Packing packing packing... Took my first final today--Ancient History. The teacher said if we wanted we could stay until 5 though the final started at 1, but I finished at 3:10, only 10 minutes longer than the normal testing period. Yay. It was about as hard as expected. I couldn't remember the names of states following the fall of Rome. I remembered different "peoples" so I put them in hopes to garner maybe one generosity point.
All I did yesterday was pack. Today, I woke up and packed. Then I huffed my stuff over to Fairhaven, with the much welcomed assitance of the RA's car, and up three stories to the tiiiiiiiny little storage room, but my stuff only took up a quarter of the room. Haha, sucks for everyone else in that building who wants to store stuff I guess. Now I know why they call it grunt work. "There's just the fridge left." "Groaaaaan, I'll take it. Ooof." "Do you have it."
"Yeah but the sooner you open the door the better." *fumbles with keys, sorting through 20* "Grunt grunt grunt grunt..." (One grunt per stair.) OK I'm kidding it didn't weigh
that much. But still. I still have a TON of stuff in my room, don't know what I'm going to do with it all.
Frisbee tonight was awesome--I was sooooo tired, but I was actually catching sometimes and throwing all right. Ctf last night was also great--we played ctf, freeze tag, and a land version of sharks and minnows.
Spring concert was tonight, I had my humongo solo and the guys said tonight was the best I had done on it.
I got the writing center job for next year too. Yay!
A good day, despite sore throat, runny nose, and boring history discussion group.
Yay done with classes! Unfortunately I caught Cody's cold. It sucks. So I'm chilly even though it's a beautiful day, and I'm missing out on the sun sitting inside blowing my nose. My concert's tonight too.
I met David Berger, an arranger, yesterday. He was intimidating and not very nice, but oh well.
Damn they sure don't pay you much for your books. The woman went through them so fast I couldn't even tell how much she was giving me for each of them.
In other news, I was charged at full speed by a SQUIRREL and I was without my Squirrel Spanker!
Cody said the bookstore was buying back books so I walked down to the bookstore lugging 30 pounds of books, but they aren't buying books back until tomorrow. Damn. It was good exercise walking up all those stairs with so much extra weight. Damn bookstore.
